Computational fluid dynamics simulations were performed using an unsteady compressible flow solver (STORM) to determine the acoustic characteristics of a flexible membrane flapping wing for a Coconut Rhino beetle at hovering and forward flight conditions. CAESIM includes advanced capabilities for aerodynamic analysis of moving bodies in turbulent compressible flows, including rigid-body and flexible membrane fluid-structure interactions.
